Sound When Turning While Clutch Depressed

Hi all-- I have an odd question that I'll throw out here to see if anyone else have run into this.

Every now and then, I find myself taking a low speed turn with the clutch depressed (a bit too slow for second gear, no downshifting into first...). It's usually when I'm pulling into a residential neighborhood or navigating a parking lot. When I do this, I hear a rhythmic sound during the turn. I wish I could articulate what the sound sounds like, but it's hard to put into words. Nothing scary like a screech, scrap, or grinding, but more like a series of clunking while i complete the turn. The sound isn't very pronounced. I am 95% sure that this sound doesn't occur when turning while the clutch is engaged (in gear).

Any initial thoughts? I can try to record the sound next time, but I'm not sure if my equipment can capture the sound.
