Pre-1974 BMW 2002, in Northern California, that is?

tii would be nice but I am more (realistically) interested in the base model.

I passed by one for sale today and it got me thinking. I have liked them for some time now and I want to know how much on average I should expect to spend to get a fairly clean car.

I think this guy was asking too much. $3500, peeling paint on the trunk, faded everything, dent in one side. Probably some rust lurking...

I'd ask on BMW 2002 forums, but I can't seem to find any.
