It looks like the market may flatten out or perhaps drop in the short run for the reasons listed. But I would still say the long term trend favors prices going up. The "youngest" of the air cooled cars are 20 years old. There will never be more air cooled 911 then today. Sadly we loose cars every year to accidents, neglect etc. I can't believe how many of the mid years went back to Europe over the last decade because we ignored them. Bottom line, if you find one you like and you have budgeted for maintenance/upkeep, get it and enjoy driving it. Don't worry about it's value. I've owned mine for 22 years and have no intention of ever selling it, so I only care about the value when it's time to renew the insurance. Anyway, that's my take... they're cars not investments; meant to be driven and enjoyed!
