My advice is to rent a Uhaul or Penske (preferred) with a trailer and bring it home yourself. 1200 miles isn't too bad, and you will save yourself the hassle of lost, broken, or otherwise damaged parts/car. You can fly there and do it yourself. I did it with my car that had no engine parts on it. The toughest part of the job was getting the non-running car on the trailer, but it was worth doing myself.
