Can you hire someone to get a "project" car 1200 miles

Hey guys. I am looking at a engine out project car with parts in several boxes. I however do not have the time or ability to get the car to my home, and I know a traditional auto transport company wont do.

Is there a company or has anyone had experience in hiring this kind of thing out?

Thanks in advance.

Rob

My advice is to rent a Uhaul or Penske (preferred) with a trailer and bring it home yourself. 1200 miles isn't too bad, and you will save yourself the hassle of lost, broken, or otherwise damaged parts/car. You can fly there and do it yourself. I did it with my car that had no engine parts on it. The toughest part of the job was getting the non-running car on the trailer, but it was worth doing myself.

How many boxes? Most shipping companies will stuff everything inside. If it all won't fit, ship it UPS or have the shipper take it along for a fee. Get some quotes via Uship and talk with the brokers. Easy and will likely cost about a grand. I just did a similar quote for a roller

I've had multiple project cars shipped through people on uship. Many have enclosed trailers and are very reasonable.

Be very very careful on U-ship, it's truly the wild west. We sold a C Coupe several years ago and the guy didn't want to use our shipper, he saved $100 by using some cowboy on U-Ship, who showed up in a converted motor home, that was full of furniture. He unloaded the furniture, loaded the car, and re-loaded the furniture.
Seriously, fly in, rent a U-Haul and trailer and bring it back yourself. Just stop and buy a come-along to get it on the trailer.

Someone that needs to save $100.00 shouldn’t be buying a Porsche in any condition.

+2 - added advantage is you get to inspect and walk away if not what it is suppose to be -
I chose to fly in and uhaul this one home 1600 miles - as apposed to using my own truck and trailer round trip.

The converted camper trailer is clever- can bypass truck scales.

I bought an ex-race tub on a dolly a few years ago from don at aircooled in Knoxville .
It was an experience , but it got to socal eventually in one piece .
He might be worth a call to see who he uses , as I’ve changed phones so no longer have a contact .

There is also a guy in socal that transports cars for a living , lost his contact too , but very highly regarded and I’m sure he could help .
Iirc , he ran a race team or shop or something .
