I'm officially off the Mac train after watching us blow this game tonight.
We're up by 1 with 5 minutes left and we have the ball on our side. Eat up some clock but more importantly....move the chains and keep possession - right?
We run the same play 3 times in a row. Davis up the middle. The first time we get good yardage. The last time we only needed 2 yards. Could have play action passed or ran a slant or a draw or - anything...but we ran right into a stuffed box. Surprise surprise....we are a yard short. So with 4 minutes left....we elect to punt. Duh....all they need is a FG to win. What does Mac think our defense can do at this point? It's the end of the game and they are gassed. Of course...A&M goes down field and kicks a FG and leaves less than a minute left, while we burn all our time outs in order to leave a little time on the clock. Then Franks throws an interception...game over.
Stupidity.......just stupidity.....I knew the game was over when we ran the same play 3 times in a row......and Mac didn't have the stones to go for the 4th down...when we had been making them all night.
