Just a piece of info I am throwing out here. I had my trans rebuilt by a well known shop 10 years ago.

Works well except sometimes it balks going into third. I was told it would balk for several hundred miles but it still does a touch.

I think it has to do with some kind of a back cut or filing on the teeth of something or other. Either the synchro or the dog teeth.

I have an e-mail from Matt Monson explaining the issue. Let me find it.

If it's something you can do before install on any new parts that this may be applicable to, now is the time.
