Generally when you see a place that has rows and rows of shiny cars, many of which are over-priced and not selling, you can bank on the fact that they own few of them. The cars are on consignment and merely act as bait, hoping someone will either come in and look at the car or someone will sell their car to the dealer, by noticing the one they originally had for sale. This is why the sky-high prices sometimes even go up, because they don't care if the car sells or not.
I would never want to try to do all these gymnastics to try and buy and sell cars, it's so simple, buy then sell, anything else is wasted energy.
