E90 Marble in a can noise ...
Hello,
Now my wifes BMW 328i 2007 has some weird noises... I have weird noise when accelerating and when parked when I rev car up ... It makes this growling noise like marble in the engine only between ~1200 ~1800 rpm warm or cold any idea what could be the issue .. ? Thx |

Do you have a check engine light?
It could be a bad catalytic converter. When they go bad they often sound like a pop corn popper. |

I don't know too much about an e90, or what engine is in one, but I have seen threads about some engines with double VANOS, having sme sort of rattle noise. I myself have not experienced it. But I know it is quite common with some engines.
If you have not done so you may try doing a forum search in this and other various forums where people have a car or car with an engine similar to yours, and enter a search about noisy VANOS and see if it discibes your problem. Good luck with it.
