e90 guide-rod and upper control arm replacement

I recently purchased the TRW/M parts that replace the factory steel links for the rear suspension - BMW E90 Rear Upper Control Arm Replacement | E91, E92, E93 | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article

However the installer was unable to get the bolts to seat. The threads are fine and the bolts run thru the holes as long as the rod is not in place. When an attempt is made to tighten up either bolt on the outside (spindel mount), the bolt binds up. All of the PNs are correct. These are factory parts that are used on the M3 rear end. Any idea why this is not working and what to try? Even trying to back out the bolts now cause them to bind.

These are the specific PNs

They never got tightened at all. The just locked up before even bottoming against the arm.
He started them hand tight, and then they would just freeze.

And g/l on tracking down your vehicle.

Actually, since I submitted the topic, I managed to find out the threads in the hub were basically cross-threaded. But even when the install was attempted on a lift, the rods would not line up but for no obvious reason.
