new water pump not bleeding.
I have a 2006 325i. Just put in a brand new water pump but can't get the bleed procedure to start. I followed the steps to start the bleeding but nothing happens. Would a bad tstat stop the car from running the bleeding procedure? I've even replaced the 40a fuse. Would I need to replace the electrical connections? If so, what would the part number be? Before swapping out the old water pump, I noticed that as soon as the car was in the ON position (engine off) the pump immediately start running (bleeding) without me pressing down on the gas pedal. It would start and bleed for a few seconds but then abruptly stop and coolant would kind of bubble back up the reservoir . Is that normal? Could it just be my battery was weak while trying to run the bleed procedure?
This will be the second time I've replaced the water pump. The first time it was replaced I also replaced the tstat and that was like 2 years ago.
