Tonite I'll work on the map BUT it will be a general route. The individual riders MUST decide the precise route and handoff points.
OK by me. If that's the deal, how do you want our contact info provided? Pelican or your pm?

For us to coordinate, we need to know who is carrying and who is receiving, as well as contact numbers. We'll publish the progress of the baton on the new website shannonsride and xpost if desired.

Like I said, we'll coordinate but we're trying not to make the decisions for everyone. Jeff, Brad?

OK....but I don't mind publishing mine...so please send me a PM at rjhancock@earthlink.net. I'll put you in my Address Book and let you know when I get the kit, who is with me, and where we are going and when. That should do it I guess.
Hey you Georgia guys....pm me at my address above so that I have your pm addresses and I'll take the lead for Georgia if you like.

Better start at point "A" to get this going correctly.
Maybe Joe or whoever is closest to the Nunley's will need to start the first leg.
Let's get down exactly what the Baton/parcel will be and get it to rider #1.
From there we can connect the dots.
I'd suspect heading east or south/east would be best.
Once the flow starts we all can keep the communications open here at the forum,
The baton in my view, would go south/east/north/ and back west to the north coast and back down the Pacific coast and head back to Phoenix.
For use left coasters, especially Cali's, there'll be lots of baton passing I'm sure, so we can do all the com right here also.

ok.. heres the scoop on the cowling from shannons S...

it is in bad shape right at the moment...(it fell off the bike at high speed, was placed in the back of a pickup, and inadvertantly had a load of gravel put ontop. it is in one piece, just scratched up a bit)

the good news: Al has a guy here in Phx that does paint, he called him up and explained the situation. The guy is going to get right on it (bumping a ducati paintjob and someone elses harley paintjob) this could be ready by this saturday in time for its presence at the wake.

Don't want to create negative waves but if the original cowling is in real bad shape I don't see anything wrong with getting a new one as I'd assume it will be framed or mounted somehow in the end.

How bad is the old one?

I'm sure the painter will make it nice enough. It'll probably go thru some incidents on the way...they do tend to fly off for some peeps if a screw isn't locked down.
By the time it gets back to PX it'll be a road relic is my guess...
