We CANN DOOO IIIT!!! Like gigantic say, between he, elquicko and myself we can most certainly relay the Great Lakes Region. We can do Ontario or South of Lake Erie.

Very cool to be a part of something WE as members of this forum are pulling together on!

BTW, even a buddy at work want's to take part!

You know the thought occurs to me that if the kit could get to me here in Georgia by the Georgia Mountain Rally (29 Apr-1 May) I could take it there and have a group pic of all the S riders....maybe do a hand off there.
Just a thought.

Dan,
we will have a leader from Detroit, and chicago.
The package will be coming down from your area to detroit.
The problem is that from Detroit it needs to go to A Wolf in Minnesota,(at least as far as we know), before it goes to Chicago then eventually to fifthe circle in Omaha, then to Colorado.

Jeff,

Sounds like...Ontario > Detroit > Chicago > Minnesota > Iowa/Dakotas, etc...

Here's AWolff:

HDD3MD,

Count me in for Chicago! I'll take it up to AWolff in Minnesota. Anyone else want to go?

Tim,
That would work except AWolf their would be backtracking down to Omaha.
Their are not other riders in ND,SD,Montana,Wisconsin,Minnesota,Wyoming,Idaho.
That said, unless backtracking is the plan, Detroit to Minnesota is the way to go.

it is SOO much farther to go from the lower peninsula of michigan to minnesota than from chicago. in fact, you have to go thru chicago to get there.
i think i might be safe in speaking for the entire michigan contingent, when i say "you can't get there from here".
a better solution, might be, that once the baton reaches the land' o lakes, it gets mailed to it's next destination. or, the nebraska party meets the minnesota party in, say, Des moines, IA

When Al lived in Rochester, Mn and I was in Charlotte, NC I met him up in Michigan as he got off a ferry boat ride across the lake from Wisc side

That would be a cool way to go...

Bob, have you got any idea yet as to where the pick-up and drop-off will be for the Georgia crew?

Nope....best guess is from Arkansas with handoff somewhere in Alabama. I'm sure the plan will become more clear once the kit actually launches.
I will let you guys know via my Georgia List when I do.

I believe Flatbutt suggested Pa to Toronto in an earlier post, this sounding a bit unreasonable for me, as I don't think a furry will be very convenient due to time taken from work/with the time to get it to even get it there..even if a furry runs from Erie, Pa to Canada.

Other solutions could be an Ohio connection; fly it into Canada (which is an good option, given from a member); or perhaps Yeskino from NY West could get it to Canada; or even one of the other NE states get it to Dan Alexander in Canada.

Just some thoughts..

Whatever is decided, however, I can help anytime, but only 'anytime' in the month of May for a Western, PA hand-off.

yeahn da U.P. is nice, but it's a 9 hour ride from here just to get to the Soo, let alone crossing over, riding across the U.P., across wisconsin to Minnesota. very nice ride, just not logistically feasible.

that would be cool too, but bypasses chicago entirely. last i checked the ferry was over $100.

there's a new Naysayer in town,

No problem anywhere in north/central west Pa. to Canada, Toronto or Ottawa way. Just a good excuse for a ride.

Yetidave from Reading and I are going to try to share some time at a track day this summer as well...tow madmen on old, fat slow twins showing the sportbike guys the fast way around the track. Could do a hand off there as well.
