HP2S owners should make no mod to the bike that can't be totally reversed IMHO.

Likely accurate Bubba, but I'm not sure as to the collectability of the bike. Time can indeed be fickle on collectibles, but sure wish I bought that Cobra for $6,000 way back when. But still, good advice!

What would be a likely unreversible mod?

Likely any 'painting', probably some 'engine work' (what I don't know), suspect there are more that would be irreversible? But then again, if you are implying that $$$$ can always reverse the irreversible, maybe time would have an effect on that?

use it or lose it.... toys aren't for retirement..... don't get me wrong they are for play'in with just don't go banking your future on it something so fickle.

The Duc's and MV's seem better suited for this but I have seen discounted Bimota's so you never know.

Just enjoy the moment.....

A little more

I just have to write that if I was blessed enough to own a HP2S today and this summer I would like to think that in 30 years I would rather have memories of dragging knee at the track taking that bike through the paces not "man I used to own that bike and barely rode it because it is worth so much today on my 78th birthday....."
LOL

Never said anything about not enjoying the bike, jc. I've had mine to a track day and enyoy running the twisties, in the rain even. I bought it to enjoy riding it. For me it came as good as it needs to be.

I had a first year 1974 Elsinore 250, and a first year 1981 RM125 water pumper. I wish I still had both of them, but I dont regret a bit the thrashing I put each through, or the fact I sold them off to fund part of the next years model. They are all toys, if you want vintage, buy it, don't create it.

So in preparation for the 7-800 miler this weekend... I added a GPS to the list of electronic gadgetry. Did I go too far?

Heck Sergio, you still got room for an XM Radio, a CB, and a fish finder.

My neighbor is a fishing guru so he's my 'fish finder'... I don't listen to radio while riding... and I doubt I could find room for my tweaked and peaked 148GTL... actually, I doubt I even know where it's hiding or if I still have it! I am interested in a centerstand and saddle bags though. LOL
