HP2S Accessorizing (farkles). Is This Wrong?
Ok, likely gonna incur the wrath of some, but couldn't resist using that threaded hole for a RAM ball and mounting the GPS.
![]() Also, never liked those skinny grips and Grip Puppies solve that probem for me: ![]() I managed to sneak out for an hour yesterday to ride the HP2S for the first time. Lots of FL traffic for a Sunday afternoon, and likely I won't add much to the accolades this bike has received. In one word: WOW!

No worse than painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa. Do you need a GPS to find the map in your back pocket, John?
If some really wants to make a couple of bucks they'll find a way to interface the GPS display onto the existing LCD. You do like those Grip Puppies don't you John. Last edited by Guest24; 11-17-2008 at 05:24 AM.. |

Jeff, have you seen the new windscreen mount by Legal Speeding. It has possibilities for mounting the V1 where you can still see the LCD.

Actually, can put anything on it. Just thought I'd twist a tail or two with the GPS on it...of course all in fun.
But, this has been covered in detail and my only minor disappointment is being able to see out of the mirrors. Of course been covered. I'm heading out to an Autozone or Discount Auto and see if perhaps I can find some of those convex 1/2 dollar sized stickies for the mirrors. Twice yesterday had a crazy coming up in the passing lane at very high speed and the mirrors were all but useless. Small price to pay and this usually only a probelm on multi-lane interestates.

John, the HP2S is not supposed to be passed, thus no worry about the rearview mirror. lol

if that's the little suction cup do-hickey that comes with the V-1, i tried that and was dang lucky i'd thought ahead and tethered the V-1, cause that little box "de-sucked" itself from the windscreen and came right off when i hit a bump.
flew back and whacked me in the helmet. once. it was velcro from the on. the kinda velcro you tie jeeps into transport aircraft with. ps: it ain't no sissy plastic plastic neither. that V-1 left a mark and made off with some of my helmet paint in the process!

Brad, V1's cases are not plastic, they are magnesium - something about EM shielding.

sergio~
mag verses plastic explains why it took a hunk out of my helmet, verses shattering into a ga-zillion little black pieces. roloo~ not sure what that is either, but it loooks like he raped/pillaged one of the battery straps to play the part of "the bungee". hifi guy~ personally, i'd put a gps on any bike i ride from now on. besides the obvious feature of getting you "unlost", if you set the zoom correctly, it's a great way to see what's coming up next...without seeing it. really handy. fer instance: stuck in traffic behind cars/trailers. look at gps. see on map that in a little while there's a nice long straightaway coming up. change mind about passing in risky corners, wait until straight shows up, be prepared, blitz past. that kinda thing. don't use it to find the nearest greek food restaurant, but if necessary, most gps units will do that too.

Brad, those are not the suction cup thingys that come with the V1. It has stong stickum thingys I think. They don't the windscreen any harm.

i dunno bubba.
everytime i've messed with the structural integrity of a windscreen, whether it be suction cups, killer velcro, holes with rubber grommets, washers and bolts....i've always had the same result. the windscreen is made to be a windscreen. it's a pretty tough job, and that windscreen is fairly busy doing the job. when you go a slap in a new element, an unbalanced weight...in my experience, things tend to get wiggy. dual purpose bikes do two things "ok", but neither "brilliant". asking a windscreen to take on a dual purpose job it wasn't designed for...it's just never panned out well for me.

couldn't get them to work properly, no place fit correctly imo Bubba, I used to use suction cups on my rt. It ruined the wind screen. Sergio, face up to it sergio its your fault. Ask Ralf, if he is not the culprit then it has to be you. ![]() ![]() ![]() Ralf, mein heir, ist es sicher
