Neused bike that is sized for me came today. Got to get the clips and a good setup and I'll be back in the saddle again. I'll be selling my 62cm steel frame Peugeot Cadre Allege I purchased in 1973. I also need to transfer my computer over to the Specialized.

You were on a 62? You don't look that big Bubba. Did you shrink?

She's a beauty. I would look into some black bar tape though. White is hard to keep clean.

Frame looks similar in construction to my Roubaix Elite. I am running Mavic ksyrium wheels

My ride from Wed...

Just returned from a custom bike fitting. Judging from chain wear the bike has 6-800 miles on it. Bontrager shoes fitted with Speed Play clips. They put me on the trainer to get used to clipping in and out. Lord please don't let me come up to a stop and forget.

Total bike weight in 17.2 lbs (estimate) When I walked it into the shop my friend the owner said, " Welcome to the 21st century, Bubba." [he knows what I've been riding]
I'll practice the clip in and out thingy tonight before I go out

Speed Plays are really smooth, which makes them very easy to get in/out of. But because of their wide range of movement as compared to many other designs, you have to turn your heels out pretty far to reach the release point.

Funny, that was my first thought, Bill. I've given thought to wearing my mesh riding pants and jacket the first time out.

if your custom bike fitting included setting up the levers like that I hope it didn't cost you too much

That was before I went to the shop, Ken. They weren't attached right out of the box. I just had them mounted for transport. Everything was changed once they got the clips installed and mounted the bike on the stationary stand and had me clip in and peddle for a while. Maybe I'll switch to an adjusted photo later. All clamps were torqued to the correct tightness. These folks aren't goobers, just me of course.

Nothing personal, but I don't trust a goober to judge the degree of other's gooberization.

Would it calm your nerves if I tell you that this guy tunes bicycles for some of the top riders in Tour de Georgia. And he's a damn yankee.

I recently picked up a Giant Seek 0 for bombing our local beach path and the first thing I had to do to it was swap the brake levers. What idiot thought it was a good idea to put the front brake on the left handlebar????
