It's with tears rolling down my face that I share with you the passing of Brad Zimmerman... again, the greatest leave us way too early.

For those that know him I'm sorry for your loss. I never met the him, but judging by his words and demeanor, he seemed like a stand up guy that I always wanted to meet.

Ah man, this is awful. So sorry to hear that. His intelligence, experience and slightly twisted humor without fangs will be sorely missed. Maybe we need a BZ sticker, like the SN we did for Shannon. RIP, Brad.

He passed yesterday....
Brad was a funny, witty, sarcastic sum***** who embraced life and lived motorcycles. He was writing a book, the excerpts of which made me laugh out loud. I guess we'll never get to read it. R.I.P. my friend... my bike will always be there for you.... but, if there is poetic justice, he'll get to ride some of the bikes he sent to "bike-Heaven" again... there are plenty!

Brad's wry and insightful comments in this forum were one of the factors that kept me coming back at least weekly, even though I haven't been an S owner for years. He will be missed.

I am truly saddened to hear this. Brad was the most knowledgeable motorcycle guy I ever met. Mix in an easy going sense of humor, a terrific way with the written word, a great heart and generosity, and a ponytail, and that's my impression of him. He had enormous patience and willingness to help anybody with motorcycle questions or problems, he was always available when I called him when I got back into motorcycling around 1999. Jeff Williams took full advantage of this quality with his endless suspension tweaking! I thought of him as the wise one, the mentor of this board. I first took notice of him when a motorcycle video was posted, and one of the Pelicans here posted "Hey, that's our own Brad Zimmerman." RIP, my friend. You will be missed...

Brad will be missed... Some of my personal experiences with him... While digging through the hundreds of old motorcycle magazines I read as a kid that my dad gave me later on in life. I noticed Brad's name in the masthead. I sent him a pm, and he told me yup that was him... turns out he lost most of his copies to a fire, so I shipped him everything I had that he helped produce. Another time when I posted a question about riding boots... He gave me his password to a website he ran that gave him a substantial discount, told me to order what I wanted and then mail him a check for whatever his cost was.
He and I also shared a passion for woodworking, and I sent him some beautiful local red cedar boards that he planned to use for a canoe he was handcrafting with his kids. Always quick to help people, Brad seemed to really care about motorcyclists that needed help. He was a wealth of information and communicated it so artfully.

Somewhere in a corner of heaven:
Jeff: Brad... GREAT to see you... I have this problem with my rear suspension... Brad (turning around, looking for help): Who runs this place? Can I go back, please? I think I forgot something...

Just talked with Sergio, and Ralf is correct. As sad as I am right now, I had to smile some, because Jeff and Brad are together again...

RIP Brad. I remember reading your stuff in the mid-late 70s. I also remember the flaming berm.
