Cycle Lift table

Has anybody gone the the extent of investing in a proper cycle lift table?
Like the Handy Industries or Greg Smith Atlas?

Or are most of us using a modified transmission lift to raise the bike up to a convenient work height?

My knees are just about at that point where using a crepper is not all that much fun.

I have had the Atlas for about 8 years. It has worked as advertised. I would have liked for it to be a little longer or have side attachments but it is much cheaper than the handy lift and does what it is supposed to

I have an air powered Handy Lift That we bought for our shop (San Jose BMW) back in the 70's. Still works like a charm, have it in my garage. Among the really cool exotic bikes this lift had happily held, here in my garage in Tennessee is this Motus and when John Britton used our shop when he raced here in the US, it was used for his Britton's. Ordered the 1' side extensions about 1 year ago.

Here it is holding up my K16GT up in Show Low before the move here. Changing the rear tire.

I'm afraid mine is only hydraulic but works just the same I normally keep a bike up on it during the winter out of the way.

The down side if you have a bike with a paddock stand through the back wheel like the R1200s or K series or an 1100s with a genuine BM stand which are offset they don't work.

I have a cheap ($300) Harbor Freight (red). No where as nice as the ones I see in this thread. It works and on a boxer you need something different than the trans lift shown.

I have a Handy just like what Dean has posted. I bought mine used with the side extensions and that lets me put my ride'em lawnmower on.

I can use the BMW rear stand without the extensions on my R12's, but it will scratch up the deck of the lift. I prefer to use a Pit Bull with wheels, but I need to use the extensions. Pit Bull is the one that arcs to the front of the bike.

I was originally concerned about the air cylinder lifts, would prefer hydraulic, but in 20 years of use, it has not been a concern.

If I was to buy a new stand I would definitely get one with the removable section so rear wheel removal is easier.

A buddy has one of the cheaper lifts with the foot pump to lift the bike and hates it.....too much pumping, but does not need an air source if that is a concern for you??

Cheers

OT- What year is the Motus? I looked seriously at them a few months ago but didn't like the pinkish lipstick red on the MST. The MST-R the dealer had was black. I've told myself I would never own another black motorcycle again.

I've not seen the blue color before.

+1. I've had my Harbor Freight lift for at least 7 years and it works well.

I have a Pneumatic handy as well, great lift. Contact some local dealers, they sometimes want to update, and will sell the used ones.

I went for the Atlas lift. Pretty much a copy of the Handy; produced in China...certainly not as well made as Handy...but adequate. And it's very nice to have an elevated place to work.

I also added a basic scissor lift adjusted to pick up the same pegs the Pit Bull center stand uses.

It does the job; and I saved enough cash to pay for the Rocket Sprockets, cam tensioner, and a few other upgrades.

Geeze...What a mess...I need to tidy up my tiny garage.
