Window drop with convertible latch
My windows seem to work fine with the door switches. My problem is with the passenger window. It does not drop quite as much as the driver door with opening and closing. When I unlatch the convertible top both driver and passenger window drop for the opening of the top. When i open the top completely the driver window goes back up, but the passenger window drops further, about 5”. When I push then window to raise the window it drops completely instead of closing, only after that can I close the window manually. same when I close the top, when I latch the top the passenger window drops instead of closing....
bad regulator? Car is a 2008 Boxster RS 60.

Did not get an answer, but here is what I did:
I noticed if I opened the window just about 5 inches it would not close and instead go all the way down as well, on switch operation the express up would not work unless the window was all the way down and somehow operation of the window did not seem real smooth. I suspected the regulator as my culprit causing too much resistance and triggering the opening rather than the closing of the window. I ordered a new regulator on e-bay (bad idea, should have stayed with our host -,shame on me). Once I had the window out, I realized the seller had sent me the wrong regulator (driver side instead of passenger side). Without other options available I decided to grease up the window tracks with silicon grease and tried my best to do the same on the rollers, couldn’t really get to the wire itself real well. I did all this with the regulator still installed but inner door panel loose. I did a ‘test run’ with the inner door panel in place, but without then door card. So far it seems to all work and I have normal operation with the switch and with the convertible latch open/close. Seems my strange problem was caused by dirt and poor lubrication of the window tracks and regulator. I will have to see how long my ‘repair’ lasts. If it relapses I may just remove the regulator and give it a good cleaning and lubrication, it may not be necessary to replace it....
