***EDIT*** Used a lighter plug jumper and it popped the trunk immediately. Good to know! I'd still like to know if the '03s have the cable in the wheel well so I can extend it to the tow hook plug area. Also, should there be continuity between the emergency post in the fuse box and ground?

Good info here but so far nothing is working.

My 2003 S sat for four months and the 3-year-old NAPA battery is totally dead. I have been trying to use the emergency post in the fuse box with no success. Jumping if with another 12 volt battery and nothing happening. Won't release with the sill switch or the key fob.

I checked for continuity between the emergency post and ground and there isn't any, but maybe my expectation of continuity there is wrong.

I left the good battery connected overnight and there is still no response from either switch.

My partner is bringing a portable battery jumper but she's not sure if it has the cigarette lighter socket plug. If not, can I just fabricate a harness attached to the jumper battery and plug that in to the socket?

I was going to pull the right wheel well liner to find the emergency release cable, but the Bentley manual says there is no cable on '01 and later cars, only earlier versions. Is that correct? I'm finding conflicting information.

The ‘03 most certainly has the release cable.
