Belt tensioner Roller
G'day All,
Replaced failing water pump & noticed a rattle in front of the engine area. Isolated it to belt tensioner roller (touched screwdriver on axle of roller & it buzzed). From all your vast experience guys, should I just replace the roller or the tensioner as well (yes I know a big job!) Thanks in advance, Matt |

Matt, I have no direct experience with it, so take this at face value. There was another post on this forum somewhere that talked about the tensioner being loose and a nut on the back side that needed tightened.
Actually, I found what I was referring to, it is in the comments for the belt replacement tech article: "There is a 15mm nut behind the tensioner which was loose." I would have a good look at that. |

Thanks, I had already checked the torque on the bolt & nut. I guess I'll just replace the roller first as it'll save a lot of work

Matt, I just replaced both idler pulleys and tensioner pulley too. Easy. Also you can save some $ by replacing the bearings inside the pulleys. I don't have the bearing part no but I'm sure you could find a post for them. Good luck
