Boxster Ignition issue?
Hope someone can help. I have a 2001 Boxster S with 78K miles. I replaced my ignition switch in 2009 at 54K miles. The symptoms back in 2009 were the common ones like key hard to turn or gets stuck. Yesterday I was not able to turn off the engine. The key seems to turn smoothly, but when I try to turn off the car the engine continue to run even when I pull the key out. I have to "pop" the clutch to stall the engine and the instrument panel is still lighten up even though the ignition switch was in the off position and the key was removed. I had to disconnect the battery so it would not drain. I search for similar issues on the internet, but could not find any. I hope it is just the ignition switch again, but want to try to confirm it before I order the part.

Update: Went ahead and installed a new ignition switch and everything seems to work just fine now.... Looks like a bad ignition switch can produce a number of different symptoms...
