have a 2002 boxster base with 62000 miles. tiptronic. two questions: 1. IMS issues or no, and when? 2. starts in first gear, but when warm,, goes back only to second. might be hi torque or problem?

Your vehicle can have an IMS issue.
First check the transmission fluid level to be sure it is correct. Then check the transmission ECM for fault codes. If the system is not working properly, a fault code will be set. This will be your best bet when diagnosing. - Nick |
