Replacing inner door seal

Has anyone replaced the inner door seal (on the body running down the windscreen pillar to the rear quarter panel) on a Boxster 986?

I'm in the process of replacing my rubber seal but the end attached to the rear quarter panel seems to be sandwiched between the body and piece of black metal trim and I'm afraid of removing it because I might not be able to squeeze the new seal back in because it appears to be really tight. Does anyone know if the black metal trim moves to enable the rubber seal to be replaced or does the new end of the rubber seal need to be pushed tightly in?
