There is some interest coming in by e-mail, so here is some more info. Come and give it a try, you know you want to!

Fees • Driving School $200 • Driving School and 2 Timed Events $575 • Driving School and 3 Timed Events $695 • Driving School and 4 Timed Events $795 • Deposits are $400 and should be mailed to: John G. Classes • We are trying something different this year. Instead of a points system, you will be classed according your best lap time. • Year end trophies will be determined on your best 3 out of 4 results. Cars and Safety • Cars will have to be safe, there is a tech inspection that each participant will be responsible for completing, and ensuring their car is safe for racing. • Helmets are required at all events, and need to be at least Snell SA 2000 or M 2000 endorsed. • A 4 pt harness is required during all timed events. • Cars running slicks will need a cage. • All vehicle modifications are permitted, provided they are safe. Dates • Current confirmed dates: • Friday April 28 - Driving School Evening Classroom Session, either at the CSCC Clubhouse or RCMP concession area • Saturday April 29 - On Track Driving School • Saturday May 6 - On Track Timed Event #1 • Event 2,3,4 TBA by Race City Enquiries: Rick Pollock 403-547-2354 or rickpollock@shaw.ca Note!!!! We need about 35 participants to make this work. Due to Race City booking requirements, if we do not have sufficient confirmed entrants by March 31st we will have to cancel the season.

Hi Rick, I had a few questions.
That seems like alot of cars, how many on the track at once? How many instructors vs. students. What exactly are the timed events, and why is the price so much for school a 2 timed events? Yes I want to too

Bob,
we normally have about 30 participants, we may see a few more this year. During timed sessions there is only 4-5 cars on the track, you are spaced out 20 seconds each, and there is no passing, so no fender to fender racing. During the school we have about 10-15 instructors, you will be out with other cars on the track, also probably 10-15, but it is controlled lapping as everyone is learning. As to cost, it is just a function of having to rent the full track, which has gotten substantially more expensive the last few years. The timed events also include the school in their pricing since we have to make everyone complete the school before they can take part in a timed event. I can guarantee you will find the track a blast. The 911 is such a fun track car. Rick

rallysport.ca for the harness and helmet, tunerworks as well, see if they can order the harness bar, if not try our host. Rick

This was the greatest day. The excitement kicked in when I got home. Nerves held up, car held up... nothing but years of practice, logging car metrics and good times left.
Lots of good instruction from all.

930's run anywhere from 1:25 and up, where as NA 993's run around 1:28 and up, 3.0 and 3.2's run in the 1:30's somewhere. 944 Turbos run 1:32 and up. On a good day I can do a 1:32, or in other words, lots of room for improvement!
Rick
