Slow shipping?
Anyone recently bought a part and had it sent via USPS? I am still waiting on oil return tube and a couple other things that apparently left the Pelican warehouse on June 29th. I know it was right around Independence Day and a bunch of holidays, but I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing delay in shipping? USPS is reliable for the most part, but every now and then...

Seems to be the luck of the draw. I had three things arrive in record time (around a week) during June/July. Had other things earlier in the year take a month too.
USPS/Canada Post is the only cost effective way to ship from the US. Tim

Took 2 1/2 weeks, door to door, to get my cam socket from Pelican.

Had something shipped to me from Florida. It took 10 business days. So right on time.

Contacted PP:
I apologize for the long order process as there was a mistake during order processing. During ordering, the original order was "drop shipped" but our vendor does not drop ship to Canada. We were never notify and the issue was not resolved until you notified us recently. The order is shipping from our warehouse today. Again we would like to apologize the mistake on our end. Cool.

Unforunately that seems par for the course when shipping from Pelican. I'm not sure that it's Pelican's fault, or that of their suppliers, but I've never had one order leave on time, complete. Either there's a part that delays they order, or that can't be found entirely, or a part gets drop-shipped late from somewhere else. It still beats CDN stealerships, though.

Won - have you tried shipping to Point Roberts? There is a company called the Letter Carrier that can accept delivery on your behalf (no prior arrangements necessary). Cheaper and usually faster than USPS/CanPost and MUCH cheaper than getting raped by UPS for Customs Brokerage fees. I have had many things shipped there over the years and have never had a problem.

Sean, unfortunately my citizenship is still being processed and my visa to USA expired, so no luck this time. I've also heard of a couple other companies that do such service, and will definitely use one when I get the next set of tires from tirerack.com, sometime next year. Should be a Canadian citizen by then

OK - I go down quite regularly (have just made my first order from Pelican which will be here in a week or so), so if you want me to pick anything up for you just let me know.

Thank you for your generosity. I won't be needing anything from PP for a while, but I do have a package of guitar parts that I'm thinking of ordering soon. If I can send it to Point Roberts via 2-day air then it should arrive at about the same time as your PP order. Do you think you could pick it up along with your stuff? That way I can save a couple days on shipping and hopefully finish the guitar before I relocate in late August.

Well I spoke too soon. I'm waiting for something (from Ebay) that was shipped by USPS on the 20th of July. Tracking number shows it hasn't even hit the border from WI.
What are the chances of it gone missing?
