I suspect that the $44.5 is a fantasy # from a Mercedes guy trying to get a deal done. Once they inspect it, they'll find the same leaks and reduce their offer accordingly. Call the guy back in a few weeks.

Hi,

Hope you don't mind the brief hijack - I'm looking at a '92 C2 that has been serviced for most of it's life by South Centre Fine Cars, which I believe is the Official Calgary Porsche Dealership.

Do you have an opinion about the quality of their work ?

Ideally, who would you recommened to PPI a '92 C2 ?

All advice/opinions appreciated !

Cheers

I don't have an opinion on South Centre. However, I recently purchased an '02 C4S from the US and took it to Riegel Tuning to do the daytime running lights. They were efficient, timely, and cost-effective.

I second the Riegel Tuning as your PPI.

Nudder Hijack: I just saw a gorgeous Triple Black '02 C2 Cab at Winn Automotive in Kelowna on the weekend. Sweet looking car for just under $30K!

Remedy451, I also bought a Porsche in Calgary last fall and had it inspected at Regal. No doubt they do a good job and their evaluation is unbiased. Regal had a list of deficiencies for my car and also recommended a cost for the repairs. Since I felt the asking price of the car was not unreasonable, the seller and I managed to work out a deal and did some of the repairs but not all.

Looking at your PPI, I don’t find any real concerns unless the seals are leaking more than normal. 996 are known to have RMS leaks and since you car is a newer 03 model, the seals should have been upgraded. Paint chips on the front bumper and hood are not uncommon for cars in the Alberta. I would rather have a nice bumper and hood without the ugly chips as long as the paint job is done right and you don’t notice the difference. Regular servicing and records are a must.

Just my 2 cents worth. $44k is a lot of money and you would want to spend it wisely. I don’t know the market for a Canadian 03 C4S. but if you really like the car, I would use the PPI as a bargaining chip.

Good luck.

they wet sanded and Polished the car. Now they will come back, redo where I put some scratches in and than they will do the912.
Now I need some salt free roads and than I can try to fire up the 911.

Just picked up my refurbished wheels from Calgary wheels. Car looks much better.
Fritz,
Can i ask, what did you have done to the wheels?
What was the cost, and how long did it take?
My rims are needing to be done, would like to have them painted and polished, have all the crome removed.
Thanks
