Hey - a couple of us crazy Canadians can come down there this weekend and help you throw that puppy together. Of course, you will need to supply the beers.

so, Charlie, I hate to be a pain but.....

even with the RS tank my range is about 150 miles, on 94 octane.

have a look at your route and see if that's a problem. I could carry extra fuel if need be. the weight will help slow me down a bit
Hey Don, the route gets into some smaller communities. The best will be 91 octane for some of the gas. Hope that works for you.

Check.

Good idea. I figured it wouldn't hurt to torque them when I was doing my valve adjustment yesterday.

See you all in a few days!

I'll run some numbers Charlie. if I can carry enough toluene maybe I can swing it. I've tried 91 in the engine but it sounds like castanets on acceleration.

Just replaced wheels and tires yesterday, so I will be carrying a torque wrench with me. Feel free to use it if needed!

Sounds like the Boxster will be used.

Last minute repairs done to Rosie.....

replaced passenger window switch
silicone lubed window guides - windows run much smoother
repaired door pocket on driver side
a little upholstery repair on passenger side door pocket
installed hi-tech wire stays
found source of an ongoing front suspension rattle. The fix will be another time.
reattached cold air brake ducting

Just little BS tasks. But fun on a rainy weekend.

if I can haul 5 gallons of toluene I can treat 30 gals of 91 octane. that should be enough I hope. just gotta figure out a fairly safe way of doing it. someone should make a gas can in the shape of a space-saver spare.

For those of us from Calgary, does it make sense to head East at lunch on Sunday?

My little guy has his preschool assessment on Monday at 10:30 and I need to know if we should reschedule this to later in the week.

I'll be leaving Nelson on Sunday morning to head back, but I'm also going to make a stop in Creston to visit with family for a few hours, as well.

one thing about the end of the month, the smokies are out in force. driving to Penticton yesterday saw seven. including the new Ford Taurus 365hp SHO, unmarked. the worst of all worlds, sneaky and fast.

end of the month is never good as quotas need to be met. the last week is bad, last few days much worse.

be careful out there guys.

Just read this

Quote:
"RCMP impounded seven vehicles on Hwy. 97 last week.

Members of the Kelowna Integrated Road Safety Unit spent a few hours on May 23 stopping vehicles along Highway 97C. They pulled over seven vehicles for excessive speed, and each of the cars were found to be travelling between 165-190 km/h along a section of road where the posted speed limit was 110 km/h.

Drivers found speeding more than 40 km/h over the limit were subject to fines ranging from $368 to $483, as well as having their vehicles impounded for a mandatory seven days."

Incidentally, my first speeding ticket was an excessive and I was well over 40 above... back then the fine was $100... that was 1991. Oh how times have changed.

If machinists could be motivated by and/or compensated with beer, my engine would have been back together and running long ago.
