MBCCC All German Day Newcastle Foreshore 17th November 2013

Hi,

its on again, this is a great day here in Newcastle on the foreshore, $10 donation for entry to charity.

cars in by 0900, breakfast 0930 at Paymasters just a short walk away.

fantastic Porsche role up last year, easily the largest marque representation, think one of the 356 brigade won best car.

pm here or email to huntercoffee@pcnsw.com.au if you can make breakfast.

regards

Sadly, this event has been postponed till Jan 2014 because of the weather. It has been raining fairly constantly all morning and quite a bit yesterday.
I spoke to Winston from the MB club (who is the organiser) and he said that they would have to pay for any damage to the grounds and that the ground was way too soft to be driven on so it was decided to postpone the event.
He also told me that there has been a big interest in this event, it has grown every year since 2009 and they were expecting good numbers like last year.
No doubt, one of us will post the new date once it's announced, hopefully it will be a bright warm and sunny summer day that will attract a huge crowd and a good turnout of cars.

Cheers

washed out completely ....
unfortunately the advice from the MBCCC late Saturday night was that the event was still on which seemed reasonable giving the weather Saturday had been quite fine on a forecast of storm and tempest.
MBCCC pulled the pin at 0745 on sunday morning which left a number of people en route from Sydney and even Wollongong which was very disappointing for them, we still had 20 hardy souls turn up for breakfast.
35 deg last year, 15 deg and raining today who'd be a meteorologist !
as alan posted rescheduled for late january date TBC

We turned up a bit before 9 and Paymaster's wouldn't let us in so we went up to Estabars. Was a real shame it got washed out.

We just got home from our trip to The Hunter region, it was a shame that the day was a wash out but I don't think I would have made it even if it was bright sunshine.
As it turned out, I tried to start my car later on Sunday evening and she didn't want to go. She is used to a dry garage and not sitting out in the rain, perhaps the lightning & thunder scared her. She got going but then changed her mind and chucked it in about 20 metres down the hill and had to get towed back by one of the neighbours, thanks Dave.
On Monday, I managed to get a bit of WD40 on to the distributors and she happily got started, I warmed it up and shut it down till we got ready to go for a drive but when we went to set off she again chucked a hissy fit and spluttered, coughed and farted a little but no go.
I figured it had to be moisture in the dissy's but I had run out of WD40. Mark at the resort rounded up some more and a garage that was not in use so with the few tools I had with me, we managed to get the caps off (not so easy in a 993) and sure enough they were very wet.
I dried them out and bingo, she is happy again.
Now we are back home I'll take her apart again and replace the caps and rotors and possibly the leads too.
So now we pray for a dry January...

New Date Confirmed

Hi all,
Happy New Year to everyone.
I have just spoken with Winston from the MB club of Newcastle and he confirmed the new date for the All German Day on the Newcastle Foreshore is Saturday 1st Feb 2014.
It is expected to be bigger and better than last time so it sounds like it will be well worth the wait.

Winston also told me that they are having a lot of trouble with their website and that it is still showing the old dates but they do have a Facebook page that is being updated.

And,

I also found this.

Mercedes-Benz Club of NSW incorporated

Cheers and hope to see you all there.

WOW, it was well worth the wait, the weather was close to perfect and there were as many or quite probably more Porsches than all other cars put together.

It was great to see a few of you and meet a few new folks.

I have some pics to share soon, hopefully others have as well.
