Prediction is gust to 75 knots. That’s enough to cause significant damage. Especially if the ground is soggy from non stop rain. |

It probably time to post that Jon Stossel clips about all of the socialist that live on the east cost that repeatedly use federal funds to bail out their beach side homes over and over and over again. Go look thur Baz's posts he's a parasite. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SJKv2iyBCIc" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Just in the time I've lived in "this" house....I've paid into homeowner's and windstorm insurance over $80K.
So far I've received just over $3K back - from FEMA. Doing the math.......they still have over $75K of my money. Am I beeching about it? No. Is someone else? Yes. |
I just checked the Brunswick County electric co-op's outage map. Of their 96k connections, 61k are out of service. Bad storm, really bad.

Also, make sure you have at least one window AC unit....two would be even better. Ones that have plugs for 110v. You can run them off the generator along with the refrigerator, washing machine, fan(s), TV/DVD player, microwave, and lamps. Most dryers use 220v - and my generator can provide that - I just don't care about going that far with it. Keep plenty of soup, water, juice, and other provisions on hand - and don't forget what's needed for the 4-legged children! ;) |

It is like the power is still on. I do a Dr. Evil laugh every time the power goes out and that baby kicks on. Enough Propane to last me 1 week at 24 hours running. By 4-5 days after storm typically the propane company will make a delivery. |

I want to put in a second 250 tank for insurance. I might one day. |
Just got a text saying an electric truck passed over the Bonner bridge back into the Southern Part of the Outer Banks. My buddies electric is on, and he said people are moving about, but the water from the sound is still flooding a lot of the island. It will take a day or so for it to flow back out
They are saying 12 south should be open to the Public at 7 am on Monday morning. Ill be parked there at 5 am ready to plow in . Messing with Baz outside of parf could land you a horsehead in your bed. |

In 2004 I was using a little gas generator with a window unit in 1 bedroom and it sucked. In 2006 I put in the 17KW setup with 250 gallon propane tank. I never go another chance to use it. Then last year Irma knocked us out for a week, it was a godsend. If you live somewhere like we do, it is a no brainer one less thing to worry about when a storm is coming. I also just replaced half my homes windows with impact windows, I now have half the world to do when getting ready. |

why would you stay there with your kid, just doesn't seem smart at all
