I did my first motorcycle carb rebuild today for my '06 Ninja 500R. Really wasn't that big of a deal. Having the rebuild kit really helped along with watching a couple YT vids and having the Haynes manual.

The Ninja wouldn't start so I felt it could've been the carbs and looks like I was right.

Also put in a new Motobatt battery and a new air filter.

I'm going to have a go at my '90 VFR750F when that kit arrives.

Climate controlled storage. I already miss it even though it's 35ºF right now.

A few hours ago a friend bought a new Honda CRF300L. Very nice. A lot more refined than my XR400R. I'd been considering selling the 400 but now I have a riding buddy I'll keep it.

You mean you don't want to ride long enough into the cold months to reach the point where you stop reflexively blinking when snowflakes are whipping towards your face shield?

Yeah. Me too.

Best

^^^ something like that. more importantly I have a fear that the tires will slide out from under me in this weather. That and it took 10 whole minutes to start with no choke at this temp.

My first. Not this particular one but same model, only used and beat up. Got it when I was 6.
Next one was a DT175. Again, not the same bike just a pic from the interwebs.

Next up, an 84 200x.

A younger me on my CR125.

Then a Yamaha Warrior.
Traded some deck work for this one with 2000 miles on it.

Went racing on this CBR600 F3.

Upgraded to an RC51.

Then a CBR600RR

Got married. Bought a couple of 400EX quads.

Oops, forgot one. Got this before the F3.

A commuter for my 72 mile journey to work.

Those are some beautiful machines, Eric......an impressive assortment, for sure!

You mentioned your NC700X "commuter" bike......that's how I see my little '06 Ninja 500R. I don't really commute as I have to bring landscape equipment, materials, and tools with me so it's the Silverado, but for running around I love the little Ninja!

Thanks Baz. Wish I would have kept some of them. Especially the RC51.

That’s a great visual representation of your motorcycle journey. Really eclectic. Do you prefer the GS over the Africa Twin?
