Superman / HardDrive - Thanks! I spend more time keeping it clean and running well than riding, and yes, a 1975. A very nice driver...

I have this old timer, good for off road and racing, I have done both. I have ridden some streeters, a nice Gs-1100 82 model was fun to scream around town, but I had a buddy get crunched on his harley by a dumb broad doing her make up and not rolling to a stop hitting my buddy on his streeter and crunching his bones, no thanks ill stay off road...

Regarding ratcheting straps just ensure you are using high quality ones. I had a economy HD strap explode while I was towing the bike in a open trailer. Bike landed on it's kickstand rather than going over the side as I was cruising 70 mph on the highway. All ended well but I had to toss my shorts when I got home.
JB - Nice bike. I'm just over 21,000 miles on my 1290 GT. I bought it new 3 years ago as one last, fast TOY. Most fun ever. Upgraded the seat and Windshield. **** canned the Servo for the Cat and added a dongle to get rid of the MTC Error. Also, download the 2019 mapping for fueling and suspension. Works wonders.

Cool looking bike but doesn't that roast your leg?

The Indian is a blast. It's got some nice torque and handles well for a 500lb bike. But, yeah, the exhaust sits out far enough that is pushes my leg out a bit and its hot on a hot day. You can rest your leg on it but it sure gets warm. Might put the stock exhaust back on.

re: chopper in a campsite
parking a bike with the tent on the "downside" is a recipe for disaster.

My 1972 Kawasaki H2 750 Mach IV "Widowmaker" is done except for decals. No Kawi green. Had to keep it as original as possible, except for the exhaust, like my 911. Making one of these handle would take Major modifications.

My little Suzuki GT380 is now resting in a museum, Motorcyclepedia, Newburg, NY.
Notice they all mark their spot with oil, just like air cooled 911's.

Fantastic. I enjoyed reading about the efforts at Daytona with the Kawasaki’s back in the day. There is a former mechanic who related some interesting methods taken. Can find it on the Kawasaki triples board.

Love the H2's. So much so a few years back, I was hunting for 1 and found prices went through the roof. Then I get the idea of tracking down drag / pro street versions where the cradle was left untouched and engine #'s matched.
I thought I could put the bike back to stock appearing
I was successful, found a few but not exactly what I was looking for.

Cannot just ride the bike stock Slow evolution of parts and deletions. Removed the charcoal canister and smog control (CC is pending), replaced the stock mirrors and incorporated bar end with my hand guards, added some bling, CNC stator cover, pending is a new clutch slave. Overall fantastic experience. Best bike I have every owned. I have now added 10K miles, all smiles. I ride with local BMW group, mostly on the incredible GS, they laughed when I got the KTM, saying it would be trouble. Not so much laughter on the bike anymore, this thing eats miles and sporting roads easily.

Speaking of Kawasaki's.....took the Ninja out for a night ride. Lot of empty streets which was nice. Surprising how quick she is!

Recently bought this after years of lusting after one. Heavy until it’s on the move. After riding twins for a couple of decades I was reminded of the high frequency vibes.
