LOL......an intervention is not needed at this time, thanks! ![]() I'm sure at some point I will thin the herd, but for now I'm enjoying learning more about these bikes, the repairs, upkeep, and of course the riding part. ![]() Today I consolidated my two storage units into my new bigger one. All machines are running, except the Honda XL 175, which I plan to frame-off restore one day. 5 are Interceptors. The others are a BMW airhead, a Ninja, and a the Chinese Hawk250. I have 4 more Interceptors here at my house (2 running - 2 not), the Rambo XT250, plus another BMW airhead....both of which need work. ![]()

![]() Started the carb service this afternoon. So far there was no air filter inside the air box - zip-nada, the end of the choke cable wasn't free so had to do some prying there, one of the throttle ends came off it's clamp without me doing anything except pulling the carb. assy. off (maybe why the idle wouldn't come back down quickly?), two of the insulator clamps were missing their nuts, two of the bolts were too short, one insulator had a tear in it and another a smaller rip on the side, and the insides of the first bowl I opened CONFIRMS these could use a good cleaning. The carb. assy. came off REAL easy....like it was hardly secured. And the insulators.....as soft & pliable as lamb's ears! Everything else looks pretty good. The insides look good where the valves go through. Off to do some cleaning....stay tuned.

that bike reminds me of one I used for a t-shirt design back when I was doing boy's clothing. Did a lot of motorcycle artwork.

PS - Awesome shirt design there....I still have the ones you made for me!

Huge score today!
Saw a FB MP ad yesterday for fairings and a fuel tank for the Honda RC26 Interceptor models ('86-'87). Finding any of these (not still attached to a bike for sale) is like finding a unicorn! I noticed the ad was posted 3 days ago (ugh...why THE HECK(!!!) didn't I see it before now, I thought to myself!!!) I fired off a message telling the seller I would take them and pay full asking price, if they weren't already spoken for and left my cell phone number. A very long 2 hours later I got a call from the seller who told me they were still available and I could have them. We agreed on me coming today at 1pm, so that's what I did, I had to drive to Ocala for them - about 2 hours each way. But it was so worth it! Here they are in the back of the Volvo and a photo from the listing. He also had the 4 brake calipers but they are naked with no pistons or hardware and have been painted this same Yellow so not sure I will be able to use them. The fuel tank is in perfect condition - and came with it's cap and 2 keys plus the sending unit which looks brand new!!! I've never bought a used fuel tank that still have those two items still on it! It's been coated inside - but looks OK to me. No rust! The large lower side fairings are aftermarket but everything else is OEM and everything still has it's tabs with no cracks or dings! He did not have any of the fasteners but I have some so it shouldn't be a problem. Honda didn't offer this model in Yellow so these are re-painted over the original White. Very good paint job though. Tomorrow I will clean up some of the rub marks on them with a detailing product. I also got an NOS OEM windscreen.....still in it's bag. All of this for only $500!!! ![]() I'm going to use these for the restoration work of my first Interceptor, which ironically was re-painted this same shade of Yellow by a PO (see last pic). STOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() ![]()

1986 Honda VFR 750 Interceptor with Extras - $3,500 (Sacramento)
https://sacramento.craigslist.org/mcy/d/sacramento-1986-honda-vfr-750/7737441277.html 1986 Honda VFR 750, nearly complete project. 33,386 miles. Engine runs, albeit with typical oil leaks for a 40 year old motorcycle. Selling because I don’t ride enough and have other projects. New clutch less than 50 miles ago, voltage regulator has been updated, yoshimura exhaust. Bike comes with lots of extras, have most of the parts to complete the single sided swingarm conversion for radial tires, printed out instructions, and a Wayne Rainey graphics kit to complete the RC24 replica look. The current tires are smoked, I would not ride it home. Gas tank has some chips and a now-repaired leak left some damage, see the pics. Asking 3400, will consider reasonable offers with respect. Pickup in Sacramento, CA. No trades, can’t meet up because of condition of tires.
