It's a 100 mile track, which is really an electrical pylon access road through a couple of big farms. We call it The Molesworth. On one ride I caught 11 trout on the flyrod - I kept the last one for dinner. This time I cheated and used an expanding spinning rod.

Think I posted upstream here about my buddy who was there with a small group. He and his group all rented their cycles and they had a blast!

Hopefully I will get there one day.....and maybe take you up on your offer!

OK - all fairings are back on now and everything went OK. I wasn't the one who removed the fairings - but the seller who did, left me with all the appropriate hardware in a big baggie, thankfully. Wasn't hard to figure out but a couple times I did go take a look at my '83 Euro which I still have parked here at my house.

What I really like is how I added to my knowledge of this bike today. So next time I can dive right in without hesitation for any kind of repair or service work. That's the best part right there. Because WE KNOW there will be more work to do - there always is!

For this bike it will be bringing the fairings back into OEM specs.

This is the '84 VF750F Interceptor I bought a couple months ago that came without a fuel tank. It was bought by someone else the day before I was going to look at it, so I missed out. Then that person took all the fairings off and repainted them white in preparation to bring it back to OEM specs. That never happened and I was able to buy the bike.

I had to go through the fuel system, rebuild the carbs, rebuild the rear brake caliper, install a new battery, and a fuel tank.

Yesterday I removed the fuel tank from the '83 Euro and installed it on this bike, which had been running on a fuel bottle to date, just for test run purposes.

The '83 Euro got it's original tank reinstalled yesterday, after getting an Evaporust treatment this past week.

BTW....the tank on this '84 came from eBay and was in good enough condition to use straight away.

The bike features a twin Kerker exhaust system and rear fender eliminator by Competition Werkes.

Yeah I know - the idle is a little high - I turned it down a tad after I shot the video.

Picked up this one for $1200.
98 R1100RT, 20k mi. no front brake, brake fluid leaked all over the side panel. Probably needs a master cylinder rebuild.
Been sitting for 10 months.. but fires up nicely, clutch seem good under hard accel.

I've tried the top of the helmet method and found if the sun was behind me it would cause a really goofy looking shadow on the ground in front of me. But I mean, it does work well otherwise

Thanks for the input, Matt. I've only tried using it once last night so no sun to make an impact. Guess I will find out what works and what doesn't. I don't expect the finished product to be some kind of award wining production anyway so hopefully it will be good enough for my standards.....

Getting ready to tinker on this 2001 Bonneville again. I picked it up from an estate sale last fall for an astounding $500!

One owner... sat for 10+ years... I've cleaned the carbs multiple times, adjusted the floats, and even had them ultrasonically cleaned too. ...but one of them is still flooding out. Hopefully it won't be too much of a headache so I can get some miles in this summer.

Yes I did, Scott...thanks. I already have a 3rd Gen and that's all I want of that era. Pretty bike though, even if over-priced a bit.

Nice looking machine, Matt and a fantastic bargain! Good luck with the carb issue - I know there's a reason for this happening - you just have to go through the protocols. Have you joined a Triumph forum? If not, that's where I would go for advice.

Safe riding all!

Quite a deal for $500. Possibly try new fuel lines and float needles.

That R1100RT a few back for $1200 sounds like a score also.

This reminds me that I need to work on mine soon in case we need it for a motorhome trip this summer. Last fall in the Smokies, the starter acted up on occasion. I guess there is a some sort of clutch type gizmo inside the rt case and it has started slipping when starter is engaged. Result being that the starter motor spins but engine does not. When that happens I have to push start it.
