I can remember decades of specifications and designs, but can't remember what I went into the kitchen for.

Wow, that's pretty good. I had a vertical leap of 34" in the seventh grade. Didn't get measured after that. Obviously that's out of the question now, although I did jump up onto one of those 24" crossfit boxes a couple of years ago.

+1

Just got back to shop after finding dear pal dead in his bed at 54, three hours ago (gone since Monday night).

17 year old daughter texts me this AM "Have you heard from my Dad?"

Went over with a mutual pal and I peeked into bedroom where tv was on. Scared since I knew not normal - his silence. Perfectly prone. No thrashing indication, no nothing. No breathing. Ashen face and deep blue lips. Eyes closed.

Worse ways to go out.

I'm sorry to hear that.
Condolences and best wishes for you and his family.

My 90 year old neighbor is quite a character. He helped me build my 2300 sq ft workshop about 3 years ago. One of his lines - "As a 90 year old man, you don't start a project that you can't finish that day!"

Thank you. Not the best place to drop bad news but a touch on topic and real time.

Yep. George Burns said at 90 something "I don't buy green bananas".

Thank you.

I will not be a thread killer with this unfortunate event. Thousands die unexpectedly every day. Carry on, this is a good thread.

That said, my breaking wind "episodes" at 62 are worthy of note. Couple times a year. PM me for details.

My joint problems move around but most alarming is at the base of my thumbs....pain. Probably arthritis. Removing a bolt or nut is slow and my Turrets kicks in.

Three pees a night, two if no beer. It's like clockwork. 2:00am and 5:30 with no booze. Throw in a 3:30 on a beer night.

Your workshop is the size of my house!

Back on topic. Now that I'm older, it takes way more than 10 minutes to "reload".

At 64 years of age, I have a few things I don't especially like, but what bothers me the most is losing friends and family members along the way....and just plain watching them age.

Like seeing my 95 year old mother finally starting to slip up with some of her thinking and some of the things I hear her say.

And my two dogs and cats....still doing well but that time will be coming.

That is the hardest for me.
