Older women no longer have the allure they once did..as they look like your Great Grandma did.

Lots of familiar stories.

I’ll add a loss of balance and coordination. I trip up getting into my underwear! 😂

Things that suck about getting old.

I don't know, I'm only 61. Maybe we could ask Bob Dole.

I can’t believe how old my friends got.

Young people talk about the 80’s as if they were forty years ago.

When I go to Home Depot now the old guys walking around with name tags get all chatty like we have something in common.

And it’s definitely true that not everything gets harder as you get older.

I like to sit on the floor, and nowdays, it takes a while to get up, and not without aches and pains.

You guys are in bad shape. At 59, I’m definitely noticing changes but nothing like what is being described here. I’m lucky from a genetic standpoint, though...people live to be 100 on both sides.

I'm with you, speeder, literally. I too am 59 and feeling just fine. Well, almost. I did a 7-mile hike with 2000 feet of vertical on Sunday and really felt it in my legs on Monday. I'm hoping to get a permit to climb Half Dome next summer. I'll have to be very diligent about keeping in shape, though. There was a time when I could just climb it with no prep. Not any more.

Oh for sure, I'm going to get old like everyone else. Some people suffer the ravages of age sooner and worse than others but time waits for no one.

What is really going to become important now is diet and exercise, swimming and walking are the best. Bicycling is good if you don't get run down by a car.

I can handle the discomfort from a knee I damaged low siding a motorcycle when I was 27 and the rotator cuff I strained four years ago, re-shingling the barn roof. I was saying to the wife the other day I was pleasantly surprised my back is as good as it is after 25 years of handling cases of milk. I don't need any meds on a regular basis.
What really hurts is talking to friends and hearing about friends and co-workers who died recently. Last week a fellow I used to play music with was lost to a massive stroke. He was mid 60s, like me. He was supposed to play a gig last Friday night. Gone like that.

At this point, getting older beats the heck out of the alternative. I suppose there's less peer pressure.

Best
Les
