Men are shamed for not being attracted to the modern female body type. We need to man up and embrace the rolls.

Chubby chasers are living the dream, or are they if overweight becomes the norm and overweight women no longer suffer from low self esteem?

I'm assuming it's the low self esteem that makes overweight women attractive to certain men (chubby chasers).

These men simply want the women to be appreciative and accept them as they are with all of their flaws intact as I understand it.

I know that this thread started out as a fat shaming attempt, but there is much more to this issue, hence the chewing of the fat.

Exactly my thought! Maybe we should have a "post your six pack" thread? This reminds me of the popular 1/10 would not bang meme.

Actually, I don't think it's the self esteem. It's the fat. I've heard reports of having sex with the rolls. I've talked to a guy that said that he liked big boobs because of the way they feel, then he realized that a fat girl like like a big boob everywhere. But that's for obese/morbidly obese women, not the new norm which is overweight/chubby

Are there some that take what might be called easy pickin's? I'm sure there are, but I think there are also thinner women (and men) with the same issue.

Hey I have a six pack! I keep it under this protective layer of fat.

Seems to be some blurred lines here, there if 'a few extra pounds' (20-30 even 40) then there is obese (+100).

Heck I was at 185 and happy... now blown up 195-200 and had to dig around to find 'fat pants' needless to say not very happy... I even had a goal to try for my high school weight of 175 but obviously need to get back to 185 first.

Why is it "fat shaming" to make observations about a well documented trend in the population?

I have no idea how fat people, or just overweight people, do it. Right now is my worst time of year, Thanksgiving and Christmas with a ton of my mom's awesome, though super fattening food.

I feel terrible just 5-10 lbs over the weight I should be. It just feels horrible. It's hard to put into words how awful it feels. And I wonder how people do it. What's wrong with them.

I’m positive genetics has something to do with it. My stepson’s father has always been overweight, so has my stepson. He lived with his mother and I from the age of 5, ate what we ate, lived the lifestyle we lived, and was still chubby while neither his mother nor I were. My stepson’s brother was raised by his father and was never overweight.

I've been spending some holiday time indoors and this doctor has been on PBS a lot lately.

7 Takeaways about Grains from My Book Food: What the Heck Should I Eat?
https://drhyman.com/blog/2018/02/14/7-takeaways-grains-book-food-heck-eat/

I've seen him on TV before over the last few years, makes a lot of sense.

I do question if he's not going to modify it in a few years regarding the nuts and seeds part. Mostly because of unless it's organically grown it's filled with some bad stuff. In addition I don't think the science is settled on the healthy fats issue.

His main mantra going back a couple of years ago has been 50% of your plate something green, now it's upped to 70% on your plate something green. Treat meat as a condiment, a side dish.

While nuts may not be sprayed on the tree when they are growing, they are sprayed once picked and cracked. All nuts easily absorb pesticides because of their high oil content, so you really should buy organic, or shell the nuts yourself.

Because telling the truth means you're racist unless you're calling someone racist

Then tell the truth of how they got there as well.

Just a suggestion.

Subsidize the production of fruits and vegetables. Change the Farm Bill. Agricultural policies should support public health and encourage the production of fruits and vegetables, not commodity products like corn and soy. 80 percent of government subsidies presently go to soy and corn that are used to create much of the junk food we consume. We need to rethink subsidies and provide more for small farmers and for a broader array of fruits and vegetables....................

Impose limits on pharmaceutical and unhealthful food advertising. More than $30 billion is spent on marketing junk and fast food to consumers, including $13 billion targeted at children and more than $30 billion is spent by pharma on marketing drugs to physicians (about $30,000 annually per physician). Direct-to-consumer drug advertising also drives prescribing practices based on induced preferences rather than science.

5. How can the conundrum between the obesity rate in America and a rising general interest in diet and physical wellness be explained?

This is a good question. We have more knowledge about food and more options than ever, and yet, people are getting sicker and sicker because of lifestyle diseases. The challenge is that even us health conscious consumers are confused about what constitutes proper nutrition. Additionally, eating a whole foods diet filled with organic fruits and veggies, grass fed and pasture raised meats can become expensive and not easily available. It is possible to eat these foods on a budget, but it’s definitely easier and more convenient to eat cheap, processed foods. 160 million obese Americans are not just lazy gluttons. The chronic disease epidemic is not an accident.

The truth is that the food industry is hijacking our taste buds, our brain chemistry, our metabolism and waistlines with biologically addictive food made cheap and readily available on every corner in America (and increasingly the world) especially our school cafeterias, fast food restaurants, and our grocery stores.

Foods like breads, pasta, rice, cereals, cookies, pizza, oatmeal, and crackers are kept cheap and accessible to everyone because of federal farm subsidies and our tax dollars. Just one example of how we make the food industry rich and the taxpayers poor is how we subsidize wheat, corn and soy which get turned into junk food and fast food. So yes, we as consumers are responsible for this health epidemic, but so is the food industry.
In his PBS presentation Dr. Hyman said that fruits and vegetables now cost 40 percent more than they used to, while certain grains (wheat, corn, oats), sugar and soy cost 40 percent less than they used to all because of the affects of US government federal farm subsidies.

You might say the government and the food industry have conspired against the better interest of US citizens.

Tell the truth about that too, please.
