Please sir,

Could someone please post David Lindleys' Mercury Blues (live) for us to really get in the mood. If you don't know it, it's one of the best songs on the planet IMO. I don't have the tech to do.

I have an original owners manual for a 1952 Ford sedan that shows a dash just like that with the exception of the thin chrome trim around the knobs just left of the radio. The four small openings above the speedometer are for the (left to right) oil pressure gauge, fuel gauge, engine temp gauge and the battery charge indicator. The odometer is bottom center and there are turn indicator lights to the left and right of the odometer, one below the oil pressure gauge and one below the batter charge indicator. The four knobs to the left of the radio are (top left) interior lights, (bottom left) heater blower control, (top right) cig. lighter and (bottom right)choke. The button on the floor next to the sidewall is the high/low switch. If it is a 1953, there is reference to 50 years of Ford cars on the horn ring. If not, then it is probably a 1954 model.

BTW, nice pictures.
Otherwise known as a clock! Don't remember if the clock was electric or had to be wound up periodically.

I tripping on the roll bar, was that a factory option? As Jay Leno said "you get in an accident in one of these cars they hose you off the dash and sell it to someone else."

If I got money, I'd tell you what I'd do, I'd go downtown and buy a Mercury or two

Based on the options I see, this is more likely to be a "C".

I found a picture of a 1954 dash. It has a different (shorter) radio that is mounted lower in the dash. So, it looks like this is a 1953 Ford Customline dash since the 1952 did not have the trim around the 4 knobs right of the steering column. My first car was a 1952 Ford Mainline two door sedan into which I put a 1965 Mustang 289 engine and converted from 6 volts to 12 volts! I remember having some "accessories" like those pictured sitting on the front (and rear!) seats from time to time. Plenty of room for romantic activities in that car! Ahh, yes.....the good ole days!

Had the pleasure of being 20' in front of DL at Jazz Fest years ago...oh yeah!

The only thing that pic and those legs need is Alan Funt's version

Yep. They didn’t put seatbelts or roll bars in production cars in ‘53. The only thing they got wrong about future safety equipment was putting the air bags on the driver instead of on the cars.

As cute as she is, I'm going to say that I prefer the modern habit of hot women going braless in tank tops. Sat across from one last night at dinner and even though they were small, it was really working.
