Its amazing how young the F1 grid looks today.

Used to be most of those drivers would be in the most junior of junior formulas at that age.

I read it’s the youngest grid since 1950

Is it considered bad etiquette not to remove one's 'do rag for the national anthems?
We never did to see the coif under the rag - maybe next race if it's all in place?
We should be so lucky.

I stayed up till 2:30 AM EDST and saw maybe one actual on-track pass - then watched the remaining laps on replay Sunday (with commercials) and saw pretty much what I expected - zero passes. Big Yawn.

Head

Good to see Patrick Head back at Williams. Hope it's a help in some way. Can't hurt.

^ ^ . Gotta be good for morale, at the very least.

herr_oberst, I love that quote you have below the line. So much so, that I felt compelled to Google it, and stumbled onto an awesome article about the 1934 Alfa Romeo Tipo B that Nuvolari drove at the 'Ring in 1935, beating the mighty Silver Arrows.

Thanks for that.

Always had this question. Why, in the driver interviews after not qualifying, do they always have a "handler" with them recording every word they say. Are the teams scared of drivers saying something bad about them. Why not just let the driver be himself. Every time you see them sticking a recorder in their face. Oh well.

Hoping it's going to be a good race tomorrow, I think Ham likes the challenge. IMO

Soon the young guys will be taking over. I expected Ver, Dani, and Rai would be farther forward. Mag was doing well, good for him.

So was Ferrari sand-bagging last race?
Maybe for a favorable adjustment to the index of performance, if there is such a thing in F1?

I'll trade you one Steve Matchett for ten Martin Burndle's.

I think it is for the respective teams PR departments so they can use some of the interview for their own news feeds.

Nice to see Mercs on the second row, although barely.

Will be an interesting race tomorrow, I am not convinced Ferrari are on top yet. I do not think Merc was sandbagging but the lap times were too close to say anyone is dominating the other.

It should be an interesting race with Chuck in P1. Will Binotto let them race?

Maybe one of those whoever-makes-it-to-T1-first-gets-to-keep-it deals. While Vettel is the team's lead driver, the last thing the Scuderia wants is for both cars to DNF on that first corner. The second to last thing is for one of the Silver Arrows to come in P1. Better to have Leclerc lead Vettel for the first lap (and then maybe figure out team orders later on), than it is for either of the above scenarios.
