It’ll probably have bags of cash hidden & forgotten inside. It’s going to turn out to be the best deal ever. Buy it.

I'd be interested in how the claim of "No Rust" turns out. Sorry for the cynical comment - just know how those claims end up way too many times.
Good luck and thanks for sharing this with us. Some of us are living vicariously through your endeavours.... ![]()

There certainly is. Like "waterproof" garments. All that means is that water won't hurt them. Doesn't mean they will keep you dry.

Around here “no rust” means no holes in the sheet metal. The car came from Oregon two years ago, not sure what part of Oregon, so I don’t know if that’s relevant. At least it hasn’t spent its life in Ohio, Pa., or Michigan where it would definitely be rusted from salt.

I looked at the car this morning and we made a deal. I thought the ad said $5000, but it was $5500. I got it for $5300. It is just about what I want. It really does have very little rust, not even the battery box.
Some yahoo lowered it front and rear, so the first order of business is to unpimp it. The owner said the brakes had been "done," which could mean anything. It does have all new brake lines and the brakes work great. I'm still going to have to give them a good looking into. The 40 hp engine runs great, transmission shifts nice and tight. It handles like crap because of the red neck lowering job. Looks like they did the old repositioning the trailing arm on the torsion bar trick. Not hard to undo. The paint is flat white. Not a bad paint job, but I want it glossy. The interior seats and door panels are new, but it needs carpet, floorboards, and headliner. It's been converted to 12 volts and they did an OK job except for not switching out the wiper motor. Radio doesn't work. MrsWD is very happy. She's already claimed it as her road trip car. ![]() ![]() When I looked at this photo I freaked out. I didn't remember any wrinkles in the hood. I ran out to look at it. There are no wrinkles, just a reflection off of my truck, which was sitting beside it. WHEW!

Sounds like a decent transaction, Patrick - congrats on your new sedan!
![]() What the heck are people thinking when they use a "flat" type of paint on a car? Sheesh..... Other than that - I love white as the colour!
