So you just knew the Pats would win in what amounts to a yawn fest. |

I watched the entire game , while a defensive battle is not the most exciting I still was shaking my head at how good the Pats defense played against the supposed high powered Rams offense . Coach B love em or hate em can come up with great strategy/schemes in the big games . I told my wife at halftime that the Rams D is spending too much time on the field and will be gassed in the 2nd half . Edelman is a beast how did the Rams not make adjustments to cover him ???
Gurley a non factor for whatever reason he just didn't show up . Goff was hurried the entire game and he was flustered early on and never recovered . Brady was taking heat also but showed once again that he's a pro . Pats offensive line overall did a great job and made few mistakes . And that's how they won the game . Gladys Knight ......... WOW for 74 years old looked great and sounded amazing she showed why she is a legend in that industry . I hope all the hookers and strippers that flooded Atlanta make it home safely The half time show was a joke .......... glad I have hockey to watch !

Everything up until the kickoff is virtue signalling

Serious question: I'm not a football strategist by any stretch of the imagination, but WTF was the logic behind trying a field goal when you're down by 7 and so little time left in the game?

They needed two scores. Thought would be get the score and hope for the best on an onside kick. (weren't they down by 10 at that point in the game??)

Boring game and halftime.
After watching all of it I feel better about watching another F1 season. |

If you are in field goal range you take the shot because you don’t know if you’ll get back in range if you recover the onside kick. With the time left the only realistic option for the 2nd score would have been a Hail Mary

If they make the field goal they can try for a miracle - an onside kick and then a 50or 60 yard hail mary pass for the tying touchdown. If they go for the touchdown and don't make it, game over. If they go for it and get a touchdown, then they have to try an onside kick and THEN kick a 50 or 60 yard field goal. Making a 60 yard field goal takes more than a miracle. So the decision was a no brainer.

I'd give half my foot to make an over 60 yard field goal.

And the super bowl was still pretty entertaining. I spent it in Fontana. Watched the game with a few new lady friends. They drank my ass under the table. The nachos were decent. Good IPA. Agree with Cabmando. The Rams D worked overtime. They had the shortest rest sessions. They played very well. They kept the scoring to a minimum.
I appreciated the game. Way better than a blow out. It was like soccer. (In green) |

As you said, the Rams D kept it from being a run away. Cheers Richard |
