I'd rather pull weeds than read a book. I do read all the newspapers that come my way and any car mag available. There have been few books that could hold my attention page to page, Tom Wolfe being one. Since I end up flipping pages and speed reading (I'm not trained to do that) I find books are not comfortable.

Read that last year. I agree-it was very gripping.

As for books, I've always got a couple on the go. In the past month, I've read about four of Ann Cleeves' murder mysteries, I have almost everything Ian Rankin has written and have read most more than once. Just dug out my copy of Ken Follett's Key to Rebecca. If I am going to be waiting or sitting for a period of time, there will be a book in my hand. Best Les

I just got a Chicago Public library card at the age of 68. The last time I was in a public library was when both my boys were younger at least 10 -12 years ago. I like reading books, something I did not like as a kid. I like the feel of the paper and turning of the pages. When I'm not using the library, I buy used books and later donate them. I like mostly history and mysteries.
This is what I'm reading now: Rising from the Rails: Pullman Porters and the Making of the Black Middle Class by Larry Tye

Maybe I’m like you. I don’t like a big pile of books at my home. I don’t save them.

Cliff, Cliff, Cliff....that's like watching a RomCom or the Notebook.
Is Fabio in the book you're reading? Those chicks are hitting on you. And by turning them away, you may have unwittingly indicated you play for the other team. ![]() Not that there's anything wrong with that. Nope, not at all.

I had a 17.5 hour flight the other day and read almost the whole time I was awake, except for taking a break to watch the original “Point Break”, such great acting....
Been through two Kindles and use the app now on an older iPad Mini. I still pick up a paper book every once in a while. |

I used to read a lot. In elementary, high school, college, and not school books either. Like one book a week, then one book a month...tried to keep it up early in my career. The past 15 years, more like one fiction book a year, lucky if I get to read two, the rest are magazines, and then there's TV, movies, kids... I should get back to reading books. Maybe that will be my next goal.

I just picked up The Empire and the Five Kings. I'll see what this guy has to say.

I've been reading Bourdain's books.
Recently a PCA friend loaned me Derek Bell My Racing Life. It's been signed by Derek Bell so the book never leaves my house. I only read it at home.

I really don’t enjoy reading on the iPad, but a book really has to be good to get me to read it.
Last one was Bad Blood and OMG is it good, 300 pages and I read it in two nights. I most read autobiography’s but I do like non-fiction.

From 6th grade through High School a read A LOT, mostly fiction.
These days I’m more interested in history or biographies. But I can only make it through a book a year, just too busy with other stuff. I’m fascinated by the space program. So I started this hardcover: ![]() |

Currently reading "Where the Forest meets the Stars" by Glendy Vanderah on my new Kindle Fire. Love the new Kindle it is backlit, that is dimmable so I can read at night in bed without being blinded...also many games to play while on an airplane, or bored.
