Harry Bosch is back

New season of Bosch is on Amazon Prime...
IMO one of the best if not the best show available anywhere.

speeder 04-21-2019 03:27 PM

I've heard it's good but I don't have Amazon Prime. Someone was just talking about it. Titus is a friend, I really should watch it somehow. Just not interested in any more subscription services.

Sooner or later 04-21-2019 03:35 PM

Don't watch but the books were good.

Steve Carlton 04-21-2019 04:25 PM

Just watched the pilot. Strong!

Schrup 04-21-2019 04:31 PM

Good show, love the music.

Nickshu 04-21-2019 05:02 PM

I watched the first season then forgot about the show. Will have to pick it back up again, thanks!

DavidI 04-21-2019 06:35 PM

As an old cop, I usually dislike cop shows because they are sensationalized and ridiculous. However, this is an outstanding series. I know several cops just like Harry. Rock on, David

RSBob 04-21-2019 07:10 PM

Bosch hands down is my favorite series. Gritty, flawed characters, not always as they appear, with plot twists and surprises. Throw in some very real family dynamics and it is an outstanding series. What a very talented group of writers and actors.

Glad to see him back on this series, more to come,I under stand next year too.

Watched two episodes on Friday.

speeder 04-21-2019 07:27 PM

Aw schit, sounds like I'm going to have to sign up for another streaming service. :)

Titus IRL is one of the nicest and most hippy-dippy people I know, rides a bicycle everywhere in LA instead of driving, etc. He was great on Deadwood, if you haven't seen it.

Deschodt 04-22-2019 08:43 AM

I binged it all. Maybe not as good as earlier seasons but very "satisfying". One of the most enjoyable shows on streaming services.

Flat Six 04-22-2019 09:14 AM

Loved the books, love the series. I especially liked how the show remains pretty faithful to the books (IIRC) while setting in today's LA. And Titus Welliver rocks.

Zeke 04-22-2019 04:32 PM

He's the producer as well. So I guess that means he gets to play Bosch his way. I've liked the series all along and it's too bad there's only about 10 episodes a year. I saved the last one for tonight.

willtel 04-22-2019 07:54 PM

I watched but couldn't grasp why they were flying those junkies out to the desert for a few days of vacation.

cantdrv55 04-22-2019 08:37 PM

I couldn’t figure that part either. Where they getting their scrips filled out there?

Mike Andrew 04-23-2019 06:32 AM

Been waiting for the new season and watched the first 2 episodes last night. IMHO one of the best shows in a while.

That was their base camp for circling about remote pharmacies to fill the scrips over and over. I guess they figured they couldn't do that in L.A.

Steve Carlton 04-29-2019 10:20 PM

I'm almost through it all- very well done. Welliver makes me think of McQueen.

Couldn’t have said it better. He’s the 2000s version of cool.

aigel 04-29-2019 10:49 PM

Awesome, will have to go at it right away!

This show is even nicer if you know LA well. It shows a lot of the city. I almost get home sick. :)

Funny you say that. The pharmacy they go to when he sets up the girl, is my local pharmacy (Crown Vally Pharmacy) i drive past it every day. The restaurant/market J. Edger goes to is little Jewel of New Orleans off of Spring street on Ord st. REALLY good food.

It is fun to see places that you frequent in your daily life.

Here is a fantastic article about a real life model for one of his characters:

Haven’t watched the new season yet, trying to get caught up, but so far I’ve loved the series. I had been burnt out on cop shows but this one is good. Keeps you drawn in and wanting more.

Rinty 06-13-2019 10:46 AM

Wish it was available on Netflix. I've read all the books - they're fantastic.

Speeder,

Thanks for posting that, a most interesting article. I can't imagine Connelly ever retiring Bosch but I guess you never know ?

porsche4life 06-22-2019 02:45 AM

Just finished the latest season. Damn it’s a good show, and keeps you hooked all the way through!

Yep. It makes me wish every police department had several officers just like Bosch.

Joe Bob 06-23-2019 10:47 AM

100 dollar one time fee to joinAmazon Prime.

Actually, it's a little over $100 a year.

speeder 06-23-2019 10:56 AM

I'm plowing through this show now and it's good but I'm sure glad that I watched "The Wire" first because half the cast of Bosch is borrowed from it and the roles were better on TW.

Bosch is still much better than average and the fact that it's so L.A. centric makes it fun to watch, just like, "The Shield."

$119/yr.

Steve Carlton 03-22-2020 02:59 PM

A bargain at twice the price.

Well, does it? Any delays due to shut downs? I guess all the filming was done long time ago and the rest of the work can be done from home!?

We have been waiting ... if this shutdown lasts longer than planned we may just watch all seasons again to get warmed up for #6.

Cheers,

G

Harry has good taste in speakers.

On a related (sorta) not, Ozark is back at the end of the month.

Mike Andrew 03-23-2020 06:31 AM

Bosch is a real favorite here. A shame that lame stream TV cannot do shows of this quality, at least a few with appropriate content warnings for language, violence etc.
I like the Billy Bob show, Goliath, a lot too. Tania Raymonde is pretty easy on my eyes:)

Baz 03-23-2020 07:23 AM

Thanks for the head's up. I have had Amazon Prime now for about 3 years and haven't really used any of the video feature.

I just turned on Season 1, Episode 1. The Bosch character seems to be a bit like Hugh Laurie's "House" so far.

So when the new season comes out - they roll out a new episode each week just like regular TV, right?

I guess I have 5 season's worth to watch until the new season starts.

Steve Carlton 03-23-2020 07:48 AM

Last year they rolled out season 5 all at once.
