Saw it today. Long, predictable, and trite, but at least it didn’t have a ****ing talking dog.
Still waiting for a decent racing movie. |

Haven't seen the movie yet, but am watching The 24 Hour War on Netflix. It came out in
2016. It's the history of the Ford and Ferrari rivalry . Excellent historical footage and story line .The story of the Gt 40 and Le Mans. Would strongly recommend it. Lots of info, I was not aware of at all. A great movie to see before going to the new one. |

Saw it today. It was sold out, which I was surprised about for a 3:30 showing.
Cool cars and engine sounds. I had a Dr that had an AC Cobra years ago. He was at the track to watch the races and when he got back to his car, his windshield was missing. A note on the car from Carroll Shelby said he had to borrow it, but would bring it back after the race. |

I go to movies to be entertained, not to analyze, interpret, or judge the degrees of political correctness crap.
My GF now understands why I like cars and the track. Good to see WSIR and some local CA roads in there, and a shot of a Washburn Chevrolet emblem (santa barbara back in the day). I enjoyed the movie for what it was.

Exactly! Never understood the incessant criticism around historical accuracy and various minutia in an otherwise well made and entertaining movie. I loved The Art of Racing in the Rain. Talking dog and all. Look forward to seeing F vs F. I suspect I’ll love it too.

I enjoyed it a lot. Yes the racing scenes had some issues but they were fast and exciting. The actress who played Mollie reminded me of a young Dana Delaney. Bale was great, Damon was okay and if they needed a bankable star to get the movie made, he's far from the worst choice. My favorite thing was watching guys drive around in 60s sports cars in 60s L.A and 60s sunshine without a speed bump, radar trap, or electric charging station in sight.

Went today with my 93 yr old Pop, an old time flat track racer from the 40's.
We enjoyed the movie. The movie is good because it focuses on Ken Miles and Carroll Shelby. Some Ford political mini crisis with Leo Beebe. Great era for international racing and Ferrari was beating everyone until old man Ford II decided to attract the young generation with the 65 Mustang. It gave him a thought that young people want something exciting and not just a Ford Station wagon. Don't expect exaggeration or embellishments. It might be a Hollywood produced movie but lays low on the over the top "in your face" trash that we have to endure today when we go see a movie. Worth the time and money to see this. |

I saw it today, it was fantastic. Some humorous scenes. I saw it in a theater with D-Box seats. It was pretty cool with the driving scenes.

Just saw it, very entertaining, great cars and sound. Not sure how accurate it was but very entertaining. Ford vs. Ferrari wasn't really the story being told.

Ford vs Ferrari
I saw the movie then watched the 24 hour war on Netflix. I thought the 24 Hour War was far, far superior, telling the Ford vs Ferrari story.
Movie was OK |

One of the amazing facts, No Ferrari has won overall at Le Mans since the Ford GT era. The 250 LM with an American team was the last Ferrari to win overall.
The GT40 era was a brief 4 years in a row. Then the Porsche and Audi era took over. A few other makes won a few years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans_winners Of course, Ferrari was busy with Formula 1 since then. They have won some races there.

The movie isn't about racing, really, so of course the doc is better in that regard. The movie is about friendship.
