He didn’t do any of it, it was done for him. I’m not particularly fond of it, although I’m not that wedded to the current design, either.

Given the amount of money he talked Boeing out of for the contract, I don’t give two ****s about how much money he spent on that artwork, if any. You’d have to be an idiot to think that the design time for the artwork is significant, compared to the cost reduction he’s already negotiated. Hell, maybe it’s even included in the contract price.

Feel free to be an idiot. I know you can’t stand the guy, but surely you don’t want to come across to the rest of us as that ****ing stupid.

Imo, AF1 paint is yet another example The Great Orange-holio parading his arrogance. NOTHING is beyond his self-aggrandized purview. Most importantly to him, perception (paint) is EVERYTHING--just as it is with every source of dysfunction (including those drunk on their own ego). The guy is the contemporary poster-child for narcissism and a 10 minute conversation with anyone still in support of his ways would likely reveal something similar in them not dissimilar to the way Trump adores all delusional despots. As always, ymmv.

I'll add, if you want to rail against Trump, the color scheme of his private 767 plane is stupid, for the very same reason that the proposed AF1 color scheme is smart. --Trumps black (dark) top is the opposite of what performs well.
