An-2? Mechanical or load issues or is that on the pilot (?lift stall?)?

Yes. But pilots have a tendency to say: "No way am I flying that thing" as they walk away.

Wow, that is fascinating, I'd never heard of such a thing. Had to google it and found this article which was interesting. Doesn't sound like it was all that hot in practice.

Indeed, a dull grey USMC CH-53E - the Navy version does not have drop tanks.

Thanks!

I did a lot of airshows when I was in the Navy and I was more nervous for our little ducted fan demo!

The HAZMAT guys and gals love it because the chemical sniffer is outside the duct in "quiet air". The flight profile is also nose height...for all the obvious reasons.

Watch for cars.
This reminds me of when I went to Baja in a Cessna 182 and had to avoid Cows on landing.
We buzzed the more remote airstrips before landing after that.

What's the back-up in the event of a power failure? I assume some sort of ballistic recovery system. They won't get certified for passenger carrying unless they've got that addressed. Otherwise, I wouldn't get in it.
