I see the problem there: the engine is attached to the door and it got too hot.

Local guy has some big planes....he fly's them to our airport/car show....the C119 was parked across the road from me in a community airpark dirt strip...but they made him move it...tore up the strip.
That's my old TR3 '56....my first military Airborne jumps were from a Flying Boxcar just like this.
The B24 is a Naval version sub chaser/bomber.

No idea what is is, but i know what it isn't : It's not Olive Drab
it looks like a knock off T38 Mentor.. but flimsier..

Might be a ULM or a kitplane of sorts.

Definitely not a warbird of any sort. Looks like a Thorp T18 taildragger version to me. Or some homebuilt that resembles one.

Looking at the canopy, my first thought was Varga Kachina, but the cowling and landing gear says otherwise.

They were used for fire drops until a wing folded up here in CO. They were not used again. Cracks in wing spars.

Spars are kinda important.

Months ago Dick Karl in Flying magazine had his Premier jet totaled from a pelican. Hit the leading edge and cracked the spar and Beech wouldn't touch it.
