Dog’s neck very hot
Twice in the past couple days I noticed my 2 year old mini schnauzer’s neck very hot compared to the rest of his body. Both times it went away after a few minutes. I’ve had a lot of dogs but never seen anything like this.
His only other symptoms have been that for about a week he has been trying to scratch himself with his back legs in no particular location....he does it on his own or if I touch his back all day long Checked him for fleas and ticks and see none I’ll have to call vet today but I’m wondering if anyone has seen this

I thought this. We did change his treats to a different brand. He gets a treat every time he comes inside when we call him

Search Google... There's a lot of info mostly around allergies and infections.
Do you have a way of checking his ears for infection? ![]()

Been reading google since yesterday. I just don’t think he is irritated or infected. I could be wrong and will check his ears
He has always had this almost involuntary thing going on with his back legs since we got him at a few months old. Does it without touching him. Recently he does it constantly and if I touch him which would suggest either something neurological or a skin irritation/illness.....it’s like he is trying to scratch but really just ends up thumping the floor with his feet He can’t reach his neck to further irritate it I’m hoping it’s just an allergy |

Figured it out. Found fleas today. Both dogs got em. What a pain. At least I know what’s going on

Dude, that is a little extreme, maybe give them a bath
Spray the yard, particularly the lawn, that is your flea reservoir. There is a product where you hook it up to the hose and spray the yard that works pretty well

Years ago my parents house was inflected by fleas.
I went to visit mom and pops and was laying on the floor reading a newspaper. I kept hearing this clicking sound. It was the fleas jumping onto the newspaper. |

We are on it. Dogs now medicated and carpets and everything else in house sprayed and powdered and washed
First year we decided not to medicate dogs cause I hate putting that crap on them but this is the result

Trifexis is awesome.
We left our dog at our daughters for a few days while we went on vacation. We had missed a couple of months of trifexis (our dog is not an outside dog). And when we got back he was thoroughly infested with fleas (mini dachshund so he's practically at ground level). When we discovered the fleas, I gave him a trifexis with his breakfast and then gave him a bath at lunch and found no fleas at lunch. With the trifexis, they just don't get fleas.
