The real issue is not that he took out a pylon, it is whether he did it in style, with elan, gusto...

island911 12-09-2019 10:18 PM

One of the things that Musk threw out when he was driving the prototype around town was that the production version may be smaller to better fit in a standard garage. That tells me this thing is no where near production ready as that is essentially redesigning it from the ground up.

Musk is always over promise/under deliver. And when he misses, there is an explanation with even rosier expectations for next time.

pmax 12-10-2019 06:13 PM

I'll give it to Musk ...

the cybertruck aanouncement is more exciting than this.

Very smart of them. Premium includes satellite-view maps, live traffic visualization, and in-car video streaming with Youtube and Netflix. Surprised they didn't do this earlier.

They probably could have if they hadn't promised it for free with the car.

So you are saying you hate Capitalism. Mmmkay.

flipper35 12-11-2019 11:07 AM

No, you said "Surprised they didn't do this earlier. " and I said they could have had they not promised it for free.

They can do what they want, but it would have bit them in the PR butt had they promised it for free (for at least 4 years) and then turned around and charged for it.

There is no way the Chevy is going to allow Tesla to beat them in the World's Ugliest Truck Contest

Amen. But at least you can get a poser off road package and an IRS like the competition have offered for years. They did add the Duramax diesel though, that’s a nice option.

flipper35 12-13-2019 02:26 PM

I see in the news today that after all the bragging about beating the 1/2 ton pickups in payload and towing that the Cybertruck is a 3/4 ton class vehicle. Go figure.
