I actually do. I was still in college when Fresh Fruit came out. I would not normally have tuned in, but roommates

I enjoyed their music.

Ha ha, that's great! I got hooked on them when a former student of mine (when I was a teacher in a past, long ago life) would come to the school and visit - he knew I liked metal and started bringing CDs for me to listen to. One was a Slipknot live, double disk set that I really liked (I had heard of them before that but had not paid them any mind).

It's good that you taught us youths that songs, sung while wearing a mask, is an invention of your generation.

Not, you know, thousands of years old.

Another from my screaming Russian crush (the female singer, not the dude, bisches!!!), that I think Jeff described in another thread as sounding like a two-stroke with a cracked expansion chamber!

Chill, Mike - I guess I cannot understand why the chip on your shoulder. The rest of us are having fun here...

And, no, I don't think I ever claimed this "is an invention of (sic) my generation". You clearly missed my King Solomon reference - one of his most famous quotes was "there is nothing new under the sun". And you can bet yer ass that many who were rockin' out in his courtyard were wearing masks, face paint, and all of that. And hopefully little else since, you know - he was a king, and "it's good to be king" and all of that...

They might even have sounded like chainsaws with cracked expansion chambers, before they even knew what chainsaws were...

Speaking of chainsaws and metal (though this isn't what I would classify as metal)!

The only reason I ever found him is that Carl Palmer (of ELP fame) started off with him (although that's not him in this video).

I love going back and finding where musicians got their start. For example, I found an old Jethro Tull video with Tony Iomi on guitar - who would have thought? Or David Grohl of the Foo Fighters - you would never guess where he started...

I had cool friends.

My senior year in HS a guy moved in from CT. He had an amazing record collection of groups I had never heard of: Gentle Giant, Commander Cody, etc. Great stuff.

Saw this today and thought you guys may get a chuckle:
